Purpose of Tool

Use this tool to create one or more chat prompts to share with others that include system instructions, a suggested large language model, and a starting message for the user.

This tool will create an importable chat file (.json is the filetype) that can be shared with others and imported into NaviGator Chat. More than one chat can be included in a single chat file.

The use cases for this tool include creating a suite of assistive chats for your department, creating simple chatbot experiences for students, or to package together useful prompts for others to try out! For example, you could create multiple prompts for students to interact with, and then share all of them in a single file that avoids mistakes that arise from copy and paste errors, forgetting to change the language model, or with forgetting to update the text of the prompt.

Instructions

Fill out the form below to unlock the download button, and use the "Add Chat" button if you want to include more than one chat conversation in a single file.

Title of Chat: This is the title of the chat that appears in the sidebar.
Large Language Model: Select the default large language model for this chat.
System Prompt: Enter the instructions for how the chatbot should behave. This text will be saved in the system instructions for this chat.
First Message for User: This is the initial message that users see when they open the chat. Use this to provide context and instructions for users. You can format the message by enclosing text between single asterisks (*) to italicize text and between double asterisks (**) to bold text. ( **example** → example )

Import Instructions

Import your downloaded chat file into NaviGator Chat by dragging the file to the Conversations sidebar on the left side of NaviGator Chat OR by clicking on your email address in the lower left and selecting Settings → Chats → Import Chats.
