Showcase
The showcase highlights examples of various components of best practices in course design. These samples illustrate work that was developed by our instructional design team in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Graphics
The use of graphical elements can support a cohesive and intuitive course design. Incorporating accessible and engaging visual content can help meet the needs of diverse learners while also achieving UF+QM standards related to Accessibility and Usability.
Assignments
Assessments are activities that provide formative or summative feedback to guide student learning to achieve higher-order learning levels. Assessments should be varied and provide students the opportunity to demonstrate content mastery by engaging with the course materials more deeply. We’ve selected the following activities to highlight assessments that foster collaboration, increase interactivity, and guide the learning process.
Course Structure
The use of consistent structure and organization in course design and content delivery allows students to easily navigate through the course and interact with the subject material. Courses should be organized into manageable groupings of content that have a similar layout and aesthetic design. This allows students the ability to find the necessary instructional materials in order to meet the student learning objectives.
